Mohamed Kamal is a Public Health Engineer and the Executive Director of the Greenish Foundation in Egypt. He holds a Master’s degree in Water, Sanitation and Health (WaSH) from Leeds University and has been working on plastic pollution and marine litter for over 5 years on various projects in Egypt and across the region.
In his consulting capacity, Mohamed has consulted and advised on various plastic and waste management projects for the Egyptian Government, the Nile Basin Initiative (NBI), the World Bank, and the European Union. On the advocacy front, he has been engaged in the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) process since its inception to ensure an ambitious treaty that appropriately covers the needs and challenges of the Global South is achieved.
