Jacob Kean-Hammerson is a campaigner and policy expert for the Environmental Investigation Agency (EIA). Jacob works on the negotiations towards a new international legally binding instrument, providing analysis, insight and recommendations for policy measures, with a particular focus on Means of Implementation and the financial mechanism, authoring various reports, briefings and analyses on topics ranging from microplastics, remediation and dedicated multilateral funding structures. Jacob has also worked as an Associate Researcher for Europe Jacques Delors Institute, focussing on the European position on priority topics in the treaty. Before joining EIA, Jacob spent four years developing multi-stakeholder coastal ecosystem restoration projects in the UK and related policy issues. Jacob holds a BSc in Biology from the University of Sussex.
